Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Can't find your answer? Ask us directly in the chat (bottom right) — we're happy to help.

What does my own ordering website cost?
No subscription and no set-up fees: you pay a £0.22 transaction fee per order, plus Viva.com payment processing fees. AI photos for your whole menu are optional (£42 one-off). Taking lots of orders? Choose our flat rate: £85 per month with a lower fee per order. No 15–30% platform commission.
How quickly is my ordering website ready?
In 5 minutes. You upload your menu in our wizard, the AI sets up all your products, prices and options and adds professional product photos. Then you confirm your web address and your ordering website is live.
Do I need to upload my menu?
Yes, that's the quickest way. With your menu (photo or PDF), our AI fills in your ordering website completely, including categories, products, prices, options and product photos. That way your site is live within 5 minutes.
Can I choose between collection and delivery?
Yes. You choose collection, delivery or both. For collection you set when and at what times an order can be collected. For delivery you set the postcode area and any delivery charges.
Does the ordering website work alongside my existing till?
Yes. Our ordering software simply works alongside your existing EPOS system; we don't integrate with it. Our CMS has a built-in kitchen display, and many customers also choose the optional cloud printer so orders print straight out in the kitchen. Want a till from us? We supply them optionally from £345.
Can I offer QR ordering?
Yes. You can also use our ordering website for ordering via a QR code — for example on the terrace or in the beer garden of a restaurant, café or pub, or for hotel room service with a QR code in each room.
Can the website match my own branding?
Absolutely. We deliver the ordering website in your own colours and with your logo, so everything matches your look.
How do online payments and ‘pay on collection’ work?
Payments are handled securely by Viva.com (cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay). A customer's first order is always paid online (this prevents fake orders). For later orders, the customer can also choose ‘pay on collection’, if you switch that option on.
Can I use upsells and discount codes?
Yes. The software includes smart upsell options (for example ‘an extra Coke for £1.50?’) that increase your average order value. You can also easily use discount codes for promotions and regulars.
Is the ordering website multilingual?
Yes, we can deliver your ordering website in the most common languages — handy if you serve international guests or tourists.
I already have an ordering website elsewhere. Can I switch?
Yes. We offer a free switching service, so you can move to our platform seamlessly and without problems.
Can I add a kiosk or till later?
Yes. You can optionally connect a self-order kiosk to our platform (from £1,175). We can also supply a till system from £345. You decide if and when to expand.
What is your money-back guarantee?
If you're not satisfied within 30 days, you get your money back. Ordered a Sunmi cloud printer as well? You'll get that amount back too, provided you return the printer to us.
I have another question. How can I reach you?
Just ask us in the chat at the bottom right of this page. We'll get back to you as quickly as possible — also if you want help switching from GloriaFood.
What does the Sunmi cloud printer cost, and is there a shipping charge?

Collection, delivery and QR ordering: get more from your own ordering website

Reading time approx. 5 min · Features & revenue

Your own ordering website is much more than a digital menu. With the right settings you increase your average order value, shorten queues and serve your guests exactly the way that suits your business. In this article we go through the most important options.

Collection on your terms

For collection orders, you decide when and at what times an order can be collected. That way you avoid a crowd at the counter during peak hours, and your customers know exactly when their order will be ready. No phone ringing off the hook, no misunderstandings about times.

Delivery with control over your area and costs

Do you deliver too? Then set your delivery area by postcode, so you only accept orders from areas you can actually serve. Set delivery charges as you like — a fixed amount, or none at all, it's your choice. That's how you keep delivery profitable.

QR ordering: from beer garden to hotel room

One of the most powerful features is ordering via a QR code. Guests scan the code and order straight from their own phone. That opens up lots of possibilities:

  • Terrace or beer garden at a restaurant, café or pub: guests order themselves, your staff don't have to walk back and forth, and you serve more guests.
  • Hotel room service: place a unique QR code in each room, so guests can easily order from their room.

Less waiting, fewer mistakes and often a higher spend, because guests take their time to choose.

Smart upsells increase your order value

Every order is a chance to sell just a little more. With smart upsell suggestions, your ordering website automatically asks: 'Add an extra Coke for £1.50?' or 'Make it complete with a dip.' A small nudge that noticeably increases the average order value — without your staff having to do anything.

Pay on collection, without fake orders

Online payment prevents fake orders, but some regulars prefer to pay when they collect. That's why it's solved smartly: a customer's first order is always paid online. For later orders, the customer can also choose 'pay on collection'. That keeps things easy for your regulars and prevents fake orders from new customers.

Multilingual for international guests

Do you serve tourists or international guests? Your ordering website can be delivered in the most common languages. Your guests order in their own language, which lowers the barrier and prevents mistakes.

Discount codes and your own branding

Want to run a promotion or reward your regulars? Discount codes make that quick and easy. And because your ordering website is delivered fully in your own colours and with your logo, everything feels like a seamless extension of your brand.

Conclusion

Your own ordering website is a sales tool, not a static menu. By making smart use of collection, delivery and QR ordering — and taking advantage of upsells, discount codes and multiple languages — you get more revenue from every order and serve your guests better. The best part: you set it all up yourself, and it simply works alongside your existing till.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set collection times and my delivery area myself?

Yes. For collection you set the days and times; for delivery you decide the postcode area and any delivery charges.

What can I use QR ordering for?

For example on the terrace or in the beer garden of a restaurant, café or pub, or for hotel room service with a QR code in each room.

How does 'pay on collection' work?

A customer's first order is always paid online. For later orders, the 'pay on collection' option can be switched on.

Do upsells really increase my revenue?

Smart upsell suggestions (such as an extra drink or dip) increase the average order value, because they're automatically offered at the right moment.

Delivery platform or your own ordering website? This is how much commission you really pay

Reading time approx. 4 min · Online ordering & margin

Delivery platforms such as Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats promise you more customers. And yes, they do bring in orders. But there's a price attached that many restaurant, takeaway and retail owners underestimate: 15 to 30% commission per order. On your own revenue, out of your own margin. In this article you'll work out exactly what that costs you — and what your own ordering website saves you.

What does commission cost you per month?

Say you take 400 orders a month with an average order value of £20. That's £8,000 in revenue through the platform.

  • At 15% commission you pay £1,200 a month.
  • At 30% commission that rises to £2,400 a month.

Over a year, that's quickly £14,400 to £28,800 that does not end up in your own business. For many businesses, that's the difference between a lean year and a healthy one.

What do you pay with your own ordering website?

With your own ordering website, platform commission disappears completely. Instead, you pay no subscription at all — just a small transaction fee per order and the payment processing fees of the payment provider. An example with the same 400 orders:

  • Starter plan: no subscription, £0.22 per order = £88 a month, plus payment processing fees.

Compare that with £1,200 to £2,400 in commission. The difference — often more than £1,000 a month — stays with you.

"But the platform brings me customers, doesn't it?"

Partly true. But they aren't your customers: you don't get email addresses, no insight into who's ordering and no control over repeat orders. As soon as the algorithm changes, your orders drop. With your own ordering website you build your own customer base, reward regulars with discount codes and encourage repeat orders.

The smartest approach is often a combination: stay visible on a platform to attract new customers, but send your regulars to your own ordering website, where you pay no commission. Every order you move there is pure profit.

Switching doesn't have to be a hassle

Many owners put off switching because they dread setting up their own site. That's no longer necessary. With AI, your ordering website is now filled in automatically: you upload your menu and the categories, products and even professional product photos are already there. Your ordering website is live in 5 minutes.

Already have an ordering website with another provider? A good partner will offer a free switching service, so you can move seamlessly without interrupting your orders.

Conclusion

Commission of 15–30% is one of the biggest hidden costs in hospitality. With your own ordering website you pay a fraction of that and keep both your margin and your customers. Run the numbers for your own situation — chances are you'll have earned back the switch within a few months.

Frequently asked questions

How much commission do delivery platforms charge?

The major platforms usually charge between 15% and 30% commission per order, depending on the package and the agreement.

What do I pay with my own ordering website instead of commission?

No subscription: just a low transaction fee of £0.22 per order plus the payment provider's processing fees.

Can I switch without interrupting my orders?

Yes. With a free switching service you move your existing ordering website seamlessly to the new platform.

GloriaFood & Foodbooking.com are closing in 2027: here's your best alternative

Reading time approx. 4 min · Switching & alternatives

Do you use GloriaFood for your online orders? Then you probably know it mainly by its ordering URL, foodbooking.com — that's the address your ordering page runs on. Important news: Oracle is shutting down GloriaFood (and with it foodbooking.com) completely on 30 April 2027, with no successor. In this article you'll read what that means and how to switch to your own, commission-free ordering website without the hassle.

GloriaFood and foodbooking.com: how are they connected?

GloriaFood is the ordering system; foodbooking.com is the domain where your actual ordering page is hosted. That's why many owners don't know the brand name GloriaFood, but do recognise the foodbooking.com link behind their order button. Technically it's the same product — and the same shutdown.

What stops on 30 April 2027

From that date you'll lose:

  • Your foodbooking.com ordering page — no more orders will come in.
  • The ordering widget on your website and the order button on Facebook.
  • Your complete menu set-up — products, prices, categories and product photos.
  • Your QR codes and settings such as delivery area and opening hours.
Don't wait until April 2027. If you switch months in advance, you can run both systems side by side for a while and test at your leisure.

Why your own ordering website is the best alternative

Around the shutdown, all sorts of new widget platforms are popping up. But the smartest move isn't another borrowed widget that could disappear again, but your own ordering website: 0% commission, your own branding, and customer data that belongs to you. See our simple pricing: no subscription, no commission.

How your switch works

You hardly have to do anything: send us your current menu or your foodbooking.com link, our AI builds your new ordering website in 5 minutes, and after a test run you switch over — without losing orders. Want to know more? Read the step-by-step plan for switching from GloriaFood or what foodbooking.com actually is.

Your own ordering website with AI in 5 minutes: here's how

Reading time approx. 4 min · Getting started

Setting up your own ordering website used to be a project of weeks: entering products, taking photos, configuring everything. No wonder so many owners kept putting it off. Thanks to AI, that's a thing of the past. In this article you'll read how you can now have a complete, professional ordering website online in 5 minutes — without any technical knowledge.

Step 1: Upload your menu

It all starts with your menu. Take a photo or grab your PDF and upload it in our wizard. That's all you need to do at first. The AI reads your menu and automatically recognises your categories, dishes and prices.

Step 2: AI fills in your website and creates product photos

This is where you save the time. The AI turns your menu into a neat, structured ordering website: categories like 'Burgers', 'Sides' or 'Fish & Chips', with the matching products and prices. No professional photos of your dishes? No problem — the AI generates professional product photos that make your menu look appealing straight away. Appetising images demonstrably reduce drop-offs and increase order values.

Within 5 minutes your ordering website is live.

Step 3: Adjust it to your taste

Your draft is a starting point, not the finish line. In the CMS (the admin area) you can easily change everything:

  • Edit prices and text
  • Set your own brand colours and logo
  • Switch on collection, delivery or both, including collection times and delivery area by postcode
  • Add upsells, such as 'an extra Coke for £1.50?', to increase your order value
  • Create discount codes for promotions and regulars

No technical knowledge needed — everything works in a few clicks.

Step 4: Connect your kitchen and go live

Orders come into the CMS, which has a built-in kitchen display. Want orders to print automatically in the kitchen? Connect a cloud printer and every order comes straight out as a ticket. No extra PC or expensive hardware needed. The ordering software simply runs alongside your existing EPOS system.

Payments are handled securely by a payment provider. Once everything is set up, you go live on your own subdomain or your own domain name.

Why AI makes the difference

The main reason owners gave up on their own ordering website was the time and effort of setting it up. AI removes exactly that barrier. You only supply your menu; the heavy lifting — structuring, filling in, photographing — happens automatically. So you go live within 5 minutes instead of after weeks.

Conclusion

Thanks to AI, creating your own ordering website is quicker and easier than ever. Upload your menu, let the AI fill your site with products and professional photos, adjust everything as you like and go live — all within 5 minutes. No technical knowledge, no hassle.

Want to try it for yourself?

Upload your menu and your complete ordering website is live in 5 minutes — with all your products, prices, options and AI product photos. Free to start, 0% commission.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need technical knowledge to create an ordering website?

No. You only upload your menu; the AI builds the website for you. You can then easily make changes in the CMS.

Does the AI also create product photos?

Yes. If you don't have your own photos, the AI generates professional product photos of your dishes.

How long does it take before my ordering website is ready?

Your ordering website is live 5 minutes after uploading your menu. After that you can still adjust everything as you like.

Till and ordering website in one (from £345): here's how it works

Reading time approx. 3 min · Tills & hardware

Online ordering, ordering at the table and paying at the counter: it's all possible with one system. In this article you'll read how a till and your ordering website work together — and when a till from us (from £345) is worth it.

Works alongside your existing till

You don't need to replace anything to get started. Our ordering software simply runs alongside your current EPOS system: online orders appear on a built-in kitchen display or print straight out in your kitchen via the Sunmi cloud printer (£225).

Or everything in one: till and ordering website

If you want to upgrade, you get everything from one supplier:

  • Sunmi V3 Mix — all-in-one till with built-in receipt printer and card reader, from £475.
  • Sunmi D3 Pro — slim 15.6″ touchscreen till, £475 + separate payment terminal (£345), expandable with a customer display.
  • Entry-level till from £345 for those who want to start simply.

Your online orders, table orders (QR) and till then all come together in one place. Want to expand further? You can optionally connect a self-order kiosk (from £1,175).

Which should you choose?

Mostly online orders and collection? Start with the ordering website, plus the cloud printer if you like. Running a full restaurant with a counter and tables? Then an all-in-one till with an integrated ordering website is the most convenient. Have a look at the till options or check our pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ordering website work alongside my existing till?

An entry-level till is available from £345. The Sunmi V3 Mix all-in-one is available from £475; the 15.6-inch D3 Pro is £475 plus a separate payment terminal (£345).

What is Foodbooking.com? And why your order button disappears in 2027

Reading time approx. 3 min · Explained

Foodbooking.com is the domain behind the GloriaFood ordering system. Does your order button or QR code point to an address like www.foodbooking.com/ordering/restaurant/…? Then your online ordering runs through this platform. GloriaFood has been owned by Oracle since 2021 — and will be switched off, together with foodbooking.com, on 30 April 2027.

How can you tell you're using foodbooking.com?

  • Your order button or QR code links to a URL containing foodbooking.com.
  • You once created an account with GloriaFood.
  • Your menu and ordering screen look very similar to those of many other businesses (the same widget).

Why your order button disappears in 2027

Oracle is closing the platform completely — not an update, but a shutdown with no successor. On 30 April 2027 your ordering widget, menu, QR codes and Facebook button will stop working, and your menu set-up including product photos will be lost. Every business has to choose an alternative itself, in good time.

What's best to do now

Switch calmly before the rush: upload your current menu and our AI builds your new, commission-free ordering website in 5 minutes. Also read exactly what the shutdown means and the step-by-step plan for switching.
